What I say to my friends who don’t understand why I’m doing this

I do it Monty's Way because my friends introduced me to it and it worked. The people that Cowboyed Joey are afraid to get with in 30 feet of him, Yet he is fine with everyone he has meet since I showed him how to trust. (He will not be cowboyed) Now I do it because there is no other way to make a service horse. My health is not consistent enough to have a horse that has been trained in a abusive manner. I can never win a conflict. The Dually Halter is a God send (even though it seems to be to big and I have put extra holes in it to make it fit. I purchased it used and it seems to stretch.) What I learned from Monty helps with my goats. Life Is Better Because of Monty's Methods.

It is great that you found Monty's methods to be the best way of training. You seem to have a gentle horse that likes beeing with you, so keep on going this way to make the world a better place!
Which size (colour) of the Dually do you use and what kind of horse do you have? Maybe you should use one of the smaller sizes (the black or red one)?

Hi perhaps you can check the halter. Make sure it has Monty's patten lable on the side.
They will not stretch. Maybe it is just too big.
Getting the correct size is very important.
The two ropes that go over the nose cannot be too long. If you look at he video: fitting the dually, you will see what I mean.

Hi all,
Dually do stretch a bit, but when washed ( in the washingmachine at low temp. with mild liquid detergent and even tumbler dried) they shrink back to normal.
There used to be a post here on this UNI, where someone suggested making new holes with a red-hot nail or pin, going from inside to outside to keep the inner surface smooth on the horse's skin.

That was me Miriam, it works.
But if the ropes are too long the dually will not work properly.
Also washing it by machine will weaken it and cause unnessary wear, it is nylon.
Hand wash is OK.
When I bought mine it was a little big and I had to make the holes. It fits her by the straps but the ropes are too long, more than two inches on each side.
My question is, how could it stretch (the straps) if it is being used properly: a tool is only as good as the hands that hold it. If unnessary force by pulling or pushing is being done why use a dually????

Yes it has the Monty Roberts Label on it. Mine works but I believe it would be better to get the red one. Thanks Miriam for the comment. Star you really need to spend more time reading your comments for the attitude you are sending, before hitting the "Add Comment" button.

If you truly were interested in learning the method here, you would be more understanding and less aggressive. Believe me your jabs at me are nothing compared to what and who I have to live with, on a daily basis. So Play Nice! Quit Wasting Everyone's Time with these childish posts.
