Naming filly contest

Hello! 100 lessons completed 150 lessons completed 200 lessons completed 250 lessons completed 300 lessons completed

"Leap Year" filly, foaled February 29, 2012. She is a half-sister to Monty's horse Nice Chrome. Both she and her mom, Tesigner Jeans, are doing fine. She remains unnamed as yet, but exhibits a feisty personality. Her sire is Tom Cat Chex and everyone is invited to submit names for this very pretty and correct filly.

Any hints on how to name her? I was thinking about having the word leap year in her name, what do you guys think?

Hi Horse Addict - I called my mare "Trickortreat" as she was born on Holloween. It has been shortened to Tricka as she has proved more Tricky than a treat. Racking my brains to think of an appropriate leap year name for yours. She sounds wonderful and what fantastic breading. Enjoy!!

Hey horse addcit,
I entered. I suggested Bailando, it is Spanish for "dancing" they can nick-name her Bandy. Pat liked it !!!
When I watch young foals running around in the field, it is so beautiful and to me they look like they are dancing.
Funny how horses get their names. I called my mare Star because she has a pure white star between her eyes. Later that name became My Star Mejestic because of the way she stands. Her legs go way back and her head is so proud and that tail of hers, straight-up !!! Beautiful. Like a king's horse.

Hi Ronda, That's great!

The Spanish word for leap year is, Ayo Bisiesto, they said that she was feisty too, so, I thought I would put something like frisky at the end of it, but I think that's too long, what do you guys think?

Spanish word for frisky is, Despabilado, I haven't decided on what I'm going to do. I have till March 21 anyway.

Hi horse addict
.
I like your first suggestion :-) The Spanish language is lovely. Renacer is Spanish for new beginning. We thought it was a good name for a rescue horse.
.
I suggested two names bases on the Sire and the Dam's names (pretty boring I guess). They were: Cex N Jeans and Leapin' Tesinger Cat.
.
See you later,
.

Thanks Gen :) How goes the introductory course study by the way?

Hi again :-)
.
All good so far.... I made myself a book of questions from the manual. It ended up about 70 pages! I have been working through it to help me study the manual. That's working well. I have to write things down to remember. I have made some videos for Lynn, and have not been able to get to a post office to post them, so I am thinking I may have to get one of those file exchange accounts. The exams are in April. I have to give Lynn a call to make sure I can go.
.
Have been really busy with my new job. I have been asked to do some extra study for work too which has made me very busy. So all good, but real busy.
.
Hope all is good in your world :-) will let you know if I go to the April exams and how I go if I do. And I won't forget this time :-D
.
See you later,
.

Horse addict: I agree with you that it would be nice to have 'leap year' in her name! I had a few ideas, though I couldn't think of anything really worthwhile... Leap of Faith was the best I could think of I think and it's not that great..
I agree with you and Gen that Spanish is a lovely language and makes some really nice names! Even something more simple such as Chica would be nice for the foal because (I don't know about you) but it sounds feisty to me! :)

Hello!

Hi Horse Addict,

I came up with Sassy Cat Olympia, as every leap year the olympics are held, and the first olympics were held on the 29th and it was in honour of Zeus.
The other names were for Sassy, being that she had a fiery nature and cat from her Sire. I am not too good at coming up with horse names but I liked this one. Isn't she a stunning little filly!

Cheers,

Mylee
