About This Week’s Lesson

The UK demos

Hello! 100 lessons completed 150 lessons completed 200 lessons completed

Just to say Bravo! for the last four videos of the Hartbury Demos. It's no surprise to me that Monty and Kelly did it again! And that the western riding got the best vote. It's so spectacular compared to the english riding people are used to! Ach ! I always said a cowboy was the only way to get the British movin'!Great to see you both showing the world how it can be done. All the very best ,Rachel.

Great video on Flag is Up about Walters not going forward ! This is in fact such a common issue and i cannot wait to see the next video next week. When I studied the sessions before I realized that I had not put enough attention on the fact that a horse should never own the going backwards for himself. Monty teaches that only a horse that has a good backwards behavior if asked will not use it for escaping or refusing questions like going on a trailer or just going forward. This in mind I saw my young colt today. He balks if I ask him to leave the paddock or pass by it. We had a calm, concentrated and meeningful (Maya: "mean it!")session about going backwards and see - he followed fine in the end and I can tell, back on the paddock he would not leave me but stayed standing by me until I said goodbye !
