The lessons where horses trust Monty over a tarp are incredible!! What about some lessons over bubble wrap... a test of trust over something more challenging than a tarp?

Hi. I have an alternative view to your request. A teacher doesn't show their students every possible option - they demonstrate the rules, give the students work so they practice applying those rules & then trusts the students to use those rules for themselves. Monty is a teacher. He provides examples of how to introduce changes in horse behaviour - how to carry a rider, how to enter strange or frightening places ( trailers ) in an incremental & nonviolent way. Once those concepts & procedures are mastered, his students have the tools to go out & make the world a better place for their horses & in some cases, other people's horses too. Monty makes it look easy because he is a master of his craft, he is supremely confident in his ability to read the horse & therefore in his ability to meet the needs of each individual horse ( break down the task into steps that the horse he's working with that day can cope with  - the same horse can have different needs on different days ). Adaptability in training is key - there is no 'one size fits all' & it is the obligation of the horse handler/trainer to explore the 'possible' in only a fair & understanding way. I hope these thoughts are helpful. Cheers, Jo.
