Girth sores

Hello!

My friends horse has a girth sore and she wants to know how to treat it

they make stuff to put on them you can find it in the feed store. just ask for it and they can tell you what to get. The other thing that I found that help is to get a different girth. I switch girths on my horses after that happens on my horses and she has had no problem.

You can also try to "build up" the girth on each side of the sore, by securing a bit of soft foam or wool, with a cotton-bandage, wrapped tight enough that it won't slide around when you pull the girth.
This is to keep the pressure off the sore area.
