Hi just wanted a small brag!! My 17.3 hh standie and I have been at logger heads for approximatly three months due to me being a very green rider and him being ridden only 30 times tops. He is a very checky young man likes to nibble, steal lead ropes, and in general just a big horse who doesn't realise how big he is.

After learning about "join up" Rock and I tried our first join up.....however that was a rather large failure as we tried it in a paddock. I actually seen Rock galllop for the first time!!

Second attempt was a blazing success and managed a join up with in 10 minutes. Since then I have noticed a very relaxed young man and there is a such a more trusting bond between us on the ground and whilst riding. I must say Mr. Roberts you have definatly saved our relationship!

Cestone, congratulstions and well done! It is an awesome feeling isn't it! and like you say, it really does change your relationship with your horse. Can't wait to hear more of your journey! I just have one thing to say..i hope you are a tall girl lol! 17.3 is a massive horse! I bet he is a gentle giant though?

Thankyou all so much for your kind words of encouragement!Since then we have been out to our local equine club for group lessons and had the best behaved horse on the planet! Such a proud mummy and owe it all to Mr Roberts! Hehe and i'm not that tall! Still need a mounting block to get up!
