My Join-Up® Experience

One Eyed Pony

Hello! 100 lessons completed

I got a shetland pony for my daughter a few months ago. I decided to try join-up on her. I thought I was a failure, but I saw it work for Monty and read how it was working for others. Monty said to look at yourself if it isn't working. So I waited and prayed about it. Decided to try again just about a month or so ago. She also has one eye. She had gouged out her right eye. I thought she would never join up but have figured out how to work with her. The Day I decided to try I was doubtful with myself, but gave it my best shot again. She joined up and followed up too and I almost cried. I was so happy. My husband who is a truck driver knew I was ecstatic over it. Thanks Monty for all of your help. Now I have a pasture full of horses to do this with.

Congratulations Hollyberry - it is a fantastic experience to be able to share this language with our horses and create such a wonderful learning environment. Good luck with the rest of your herd and hope you have much success and produce more great relationships with the horses you have. Cheers Jan

That's great hollyberry,

I was just reading a vet article on the horse.com about blind horses and how they cope.
It was a great article.
I'm happy you had success. And it is easy to cry over our successes, it shows we have a heart.
And good horses are all about the heart, right.
