Poll Injury

Hello!

Hi everyone,

I am Debbie from the UK and I own a Fresian Mare who has sometime in her life experienced a trauma to her poll.
My mare when you ride is trying to run away, either through pain or a learnt behaviour. She is a gorgeous horse on the ground she follows me around on the ground, and I feel she trusts me. Does anyone have any experience of horse who a poll injury?
With best wishes Debbie

Does she lead well with a halter? Do you have trouble putting the bridle on? I had a mare who you had to unbuckle the bridle to put it on because you couldn't pull it over ears. So I believe that at sometime someone had used her ears as correction. If your horse has had an injury to her poll the narrower strap of a bridle might be causing discomfort if the halter doesn't bother her.You might be able to find something to cushion the bridle strap.
