Tearing Tendon!

Hello!

Hi -
My mare has had a bucking problem (from which i - and later my neighbor - broke a finger!) for a while now and we were not sure why. At first we thought she had just not been schooled enough/properly - but we now have found out (through my riding instructor) that her tendon is Tearing (!) - well they think it is :|
We are getting a "horse healer/trainer" to come and see for sure - but i think it is the tendon. (I will let you know what she says) .
Just as a second opinion, does anyone have suggestions on how i could fix this problem?
Thank you :)

Hi Charlotte,
.
have you had checked your mare's back? Bucking is often connected with pain, sometimes because of a bad fitting saddle, sometimes the horse had an accident out in the pasture, sometimes it is because of the rider's back problems, which leads to sittig on the horse out of the natural balance. I would give a chiropractor a call an let him/her check your mare.
.
Best wishes from Hamburg, Germany

Hi Charlotte - if it is a torn tendon then I believe rest maybe the only solution - small yard or stable and no riding for a couple of months. I would be checking with a vet first.

This is probably due to the language barrier (English not being my native tongue) but I'm not sure what you mean by "her tendon is Tearing"?
Which tendon?
A torn tendon, at any location, would, as MaggieF says, require a long rest and recuperation.
I would definitely recommend consulting a vet!

I agree with Maggie and Kicki - a torn tendon is a major issue - vet needed pronto! :-) Keep us posted Charlotte.

Hello!

Hi -
Sorry, have been away.
Thank you Jasmin - i did check her bach by putting pressure in all of the spinal areas but she did not even notice.
And by her tendon is 'Tearing' i mean that i dont think it is torn yet, but i am not sure.
Am looking around for a vet - for have recently got her and do not know any vets at the moment.
Thanks for suggestions :)
